The app says you can buy things for free with points, but when I tried to bring it up and handle it myself to get a free item for $3.79, it just offered me $2 off. As I went to show the girl, it just applied the $2 off, not offering the item I wanted. You can't say, oops, that's not what I wanted to do! I asked if she could override for the extra $1.79, but she wasn't authorized as it was a free item. I asked if I didn't apply it would I get it back. I was thinking to remove the item and complete the sell without the $2 as I have hadn't scanned the $2 in yet and then I could start over with a different purchase That was a no, too. Way to bait and switch, Von's! It was clear what the mistake was! Allow your people to fix these things for the customer when they are obvious! Further, as long as I haven't paid yet, allow me to cancel the $2 and apply it as I wish!
Further, if you go through self check out, something I don't mind doing as I like to pack my own groceries, they can't spare one person to assist the six people doing it themselves! Someone posted there to help customers in need right away, might have avoided this as it happened when I was trying to get to the right place in the app after she finally came over after I had waited so long for help that I was calling the store and then waited for her to help another person at self check out and then she turned away and was answering someone else's questions halfway through helping me! So, yeah, I pretty impatient by them!
I should note that, while I have received pretty good assistance from the management fixing problems here, there did seem often be problems! The staff is pretty hit or miss, with long time associates like Rosa being fantastic and grocery bagger Frank has a really good attitude, but with others, the experience is problematic. I am pretty sure the unapologetic woman, who was not one of their special needs hires, helping me today is the same one that wrote two of my rain checks wrong five weeks ago, listing the price on one of the items as their regular price rather than the sale price and the other for the wrong quantity. She seemed kind of out of it tonight, too. The manager did fix both rain checks and honor the quantity and previous prices. How do you get things that wrong, though!?

This place is already too expensive compared to Stater Brothers. It's very close to my house,but I guess I'll drive further. I bought 2 pineapples on Thursday and the price is 4.99 now. Earlier in the week it was 3.99. Just how long can this market survive if they keep pricing themselves out of business. I have a "Vons" card,but it really doesn't make a difference. Too expensive for me. Guess I'll have to go to Costco twice a week now.

Supervisor on shift was rude and employee also beacuse I had one item to pick up and could not get help and told me there were more and just told her there was only one that’s all I said.when I came back to store the manager on shift told me not to come back there. I won’t as a long time Safeway customer never again worst Vons in the west coast don’t flog there.

Their vons packaged boneless, skinless chicken thighs surprisingly has SKIN!!! and yes, you are paying for the skin instead of the chicken! Isn't chicken expensive enough these days that you are sneaking some skin in there???

The sliced up watermelon they do buy 2 get 1 free seems like crappy quality and it's mostly melon things it's not the actual melon. Recently got some and the aftertaste is weird like peppermint or something idk and it's like not ripe...why are you selling bad quality watermelon...Ralph's quality is much better for the sliced up watermelon...yours is unripe or extremely soggy or bad taste idk what's going on
